Yeah!!! ![]()
I'm so looking forward to my holiday in Scotland. It'll be a coach tour of seven days (including two days of travelling to and from Scotland). I'm already making plenty of plans on what I want to see and what I want need to buy. There are numerous books I want, perhaps a couple of dvds or videos, and definitely tons of Lemon Curd and curry sauces. The curry sauces prepared by the local industry in my country do not deserve that name, they are disgusting. *bleurgh*
I'll opt out of a couple of places we'll visit because I've seen them before. About 10 years ago, I made basically the same trip, so I've been to Edinburgh castle, a whisky distillery, etc. So while the others are doing some educational stuff, I'll be out having some fun!!
Well, my idea of fun, anyway ![]()
This is our itinerary (not that you've asked for it *grin*)
On 28 Aug, we'll arrive in Hull and drive to York for a tour of the city. Then we'll continue to Scotland to arrive for dinner at our hotel "in the Edinburgh area" (?)
The 29th is completely dedicated to Edinburgh. There'll be a tour of the city in the morning, and a visit of the castle in the afternoon. In-between we'll be given some time to explore Edinburgh on our own.
On the 30th, we'll leave the hotel and first stop in Perth to visit Scone Palace. Through the Grampian Mountains, past Braemar and Balmoral Castle, we'll go to a whisky distillery (ooooops, I almost spelt whisky with an "e"
). After a tour of the distillery, we'll drive to our next hotel in the Aviemore area.
On 31 August, we'll drive up to Loch Ness and further to Ben Nevis and the Glen Coe Valley. Then we'll stop in Invararay before we continue through Rannoch Moor and the Trossachs to Loch Lomond. Just in time for dinner we'll arrive at our next hotel in the Glasgow area.
The 1st of September is our last day in Scotland *sob*. After a tour of Glasgow, we'll go to Gretna Green, leave Scotland and drive through the Lake District back to Hull.
So get ready for me, Scotland!!!

Hu Silvia, sounds like you are going to paint the town red, indeed, paint it tartan! I really wish I could meet you there - I know how to show a girl a good time! Unfortunatly business and familt committments prevent me from making my way north of the border - but I'm sure you'll do fine wiothout me - I pity those poor men in kilts, they won't know what's hit them or groped them, as the case may be
